Finding Your Way to Fermoyle Cottages
Situated in a rural area, we recommend that guests have their own car for convenience. However, public transport is available: a bus from Galway and Ennis stops at the Murrough bus stop, about 1 mile from the property.

Welcome to Fermoyle Cottage, where history and nature come together in the heart of one of Ireland's most sought-after regions. Nestled on a farm that has been in the McCarthy family since the 1600s, our property is more than just a place to stay—it’s a journey back in time. My husband, Pat, who grew up here, and I have lovingly restored each building, including our two charming rental cottages, using original materials to preserve their authentic character.
As you pass over the bridge at the entrance, you’ll see the Caher River winding through our land—the only above-ground river in the Burren. Our farm has always been a working farm, with cattle grazing the fields as they have for centuries. Alongside the cows, you’ll meet our friendly pets, including a pony, a donkey, two cats, and two dogs, who love to explore the grounds as much as our guests do.
